The "Combined Defence Services" Examination (CDS) is conducted twice a year by the Union Public Service Commission for recruitment into the Indian Military Academy, officers Training Academy, Indian Naval Academy and Indian Air Force Academy. The Notification for the examination is usually released in the months of October and June, and the examinations are conducted in February and November respectively. Only unmarried graduates are eligible to sit for the exam. Successful candidates are admitted into the respective Academies after an interview conducted by the Services Selection Board (SSB).

CDSE Eligibility Criteria

Below is the eligibility criteria for CDS1  for all the aspirants of UPSC CDS Exam. Check the UPSC CDS Exam 2019 Eligibility below before going for registration. Nationality: A candidate must be unmarried and must either be:  (i) a Citizen of India, or  (ii) a subject of Bhutan, or (iii) a subject of Nepal, or (iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or (v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, and Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. CDSE Age Limits, Sex and Marital Status

(i) For IMA-Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January 1996 and not later than 1st January 2001 only are eligible. (ii) For Indian Naval Academy-Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January 1996 and not later than 1st January 2001 only are eligible. For I.M.A. and Officers’ Training Academy-Degree of a recognized University or equivalent. For Indian Naval Academy- Degree in Engineering from a recognized University/Institution. CDSE Features

The candidates will be provided admission to INA, IMA, Air Force Academy, and Officers’ Training Academy through Written Examination, Personality Test and Interview. The result of CDS 2019 will be declared only for those candidates who will score minimum qualifying marks in the written examination as fixed by the Commission in their discretion. The written exam result of CDS I 2019 will be declared in a pdf file format.
