LL.M (Master of Laws) (4 semesters, 2 years): Criminal Law, Contract and Insurance, Human Rights, Intellectual Property, Environmental Law, Constitutional Law, Competition Law

Seats: 15 (Fifteen)

The Law Department has been introduced as a Post Graduate Department

The objectives of the Dept inter alia are to promote and disseminate knowledge of law and legal processes and their role in national development, promote legal knowledge and to make law and the legal process efficient instruments of social advancement, to advance the professional education and also to provide adequate orientation and training to judicial officers and others who are involved in the administration of justice; develop skills with regard to advocacy, legal service, legislation and law reforms

Admission Process:

The admission to LL.M course shall be made on the basis of merit in the LL.M entrance test, viva voce and academic performance in LL.B


Three year LL.B after graduation under at least 10+2+3 pattern or five years LL.B under 10+2+5 pattern recognised by the Bar Council of India securing a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate in LL.B degree

Candidates appearing in the final year of the qualifying examination may also apply and appear in the test. However, the candidate will be required to produce the original mark sheet of the qualifying examination at the time of getting admission Reservation shall be as per the rules

Relaxation in minimum eligibility for SC/ST/OBC/OBC/Minorities/PC candidates shall be as per the Central Govt/UGC/ Tripura University rules

Entrance Test:

The scheme for entrance test would be as, 50% would be counted from candidate’s written test marks, 25% would be counted from candidate’s viva voce marks, 25% would be counted from candidate’s graduation marks

The entrance test will be of 100 marks comprising 50 (fifty) multiple choice questions

The questions shall be asked from the following areas, Constitutional Law, Law of Torts, Indian Contract Act, 1872, Indian Penal Code, 1860, Jurisprudence, International Law, Human Rights, Family law, Environmental law

Venue: Department of Law

Documents to be submitted at the time of admission, bachelor degree marksheets/certificates, Madhyamic admit card for verification of date of birth, SC/ST/OBC/PH certificate (if applicable); 3 passport size coloured photographs, no objection certificate (for in service applicant)
