Eligibility Criteria

A. For Full Time M.Tech. Programme With Scholarship: ( Four Semester Programme Of Two Year Duration )

i) A candidates must have passed B.E. / B. Tech. Degree in Electronics & Communication / Computer / Electronics / Electrical Engineering / Instrumentation & Control Engineering from the University of Delhi or equivalent from recognized University / Institutions.

OR

A candidate must have passed in the A.M.I.E.( India ) Exam. with appropriate specialization / Grad. I.E.T.E.( India ) AMIE( London ) or any other examination in the concerned branch recognized as equivalent to B.E. degree by the University of Delhi.

ii) A candidate for admission to full time course must have qualified GATE ( Graduate      Aptitude Test in Engineering ).

B. For Full Time Sponsored M. Tech Programme Without Scholarship. ( Four Semester Programme Of Two Year Duration )

i.) A candidate must have passed B.E. / B.Tech. Degree in Electronics & Communication /     Computer / Electronics / Electrical Engineering / Instrumentation & Control Engineering     from the University of Delhi or equivalent from recognized University / Institutions.

OR

A candidate must have passed in the A.M.I.E.(India) Exam. with appropriate specialization /Grad. I.E.T.E. ( India ) AMIE ( London)  or any other examination in the concerned branch recognized as equivalent to B.E. degree by the University of Delhi. The     preference shall be given to those candidates who are GATE qualified.

ii) The candidates must have minimum one year’s full time work experience in a registered      firm / company / Industry / Educational and Research Institutes / any Government Department Or Government Autonomous organizations in the relevant field in which admission is being sought. Experience period will be counted from the date of declaration of B.E. Result till 31/07/2014.

iii) A letter from the employer must be furnished stating that the candidate is being sponsored      to get admission. The employer should also indicate that the candidate will not be      withdrawn midway till the completion of the course.

NOTE:

It is essential to submit attested copy of certificate to calculate the % for CGPA / FGPA from the concerned University / College ( wherever applicable ) otherwise formula as per AICTE guidelines will be used for converting CGPA / FGPA to percentage.

C. Part Time M.Tech. Programme ( Six Semester Programme Of Three Year Duration )

i) A candidates must have passed B.E. / B.Tech. degree in Electronics & Communication / Computer / Electronics / Electrical Engineering / Instrumentation & Control Engineering from the University of Delhi or equivalent from recognized University / Institutions.

                                 OR

A candidate must have passed in the A.M.I.E.( India ) Exam. with appropriate specialization /Grad. I.E.T.E.( India) AMIE( London ) or any other examination in the concerned branch recognized as equivalent to B.E. degree by the University of Delhi.

ii) The candidates must have minimum one year’s full time work experience in a registered     firm / company / Industry / Educational and Research Institutes / any Government Department or Government Autonomous organizations in the relevant field in which admission is being sought. One year experience will be counted from the date of declaration of B.E. result till 31/07/2014. The candidates will be required to submit a ‘No Objection Certificate” from their employers.

Note:

Reservation of Seats:

Reservations for SC / ST and Physically Challenged( PH ) candidates will be as per the admission procedure and implemented division wise as communicated by the Faculty of Technology .( reproduced below ).

“No seats be reserved for Scheduled Castes in a post-graduate course where the number of seats is less than 7. where number of seats is 7 or more but less than 15, 15% of seats be reserved for Schedule caste candidates( if no schedule caste candidate is available ,the seat would go to a schedule tribe candidate, if available ). Where the number of seats is 15 or more reservation @15% and @7.5% for schedule castes and schedule tribes candidates ( inter-changeable )be made respectively. The reservation will be implemented department wise. 3% of total seats will be reserved to the physically challenged candidates if they are eligible.

Age Requirement:

       A candidate should be at least twenty one years of age before the first day of October        2014. However, the Vice-Chancellor on the basis of individual merit may relax the age up to a  maximum period of one year.

Admission Procedure:

i. All candidates for admission to M.Tech. Programmers must submit their applications online at the website www.nsit.nic.in.

ii. The final selection of the candidates shall be made by the Selection Committee on the basis of their performance at the qualifying examination, written test and interview as     indicated below:

For Full Time M. Tech. Programme:

1. Weightage for GATE score - 80%

2. Interview/ Viva- Voce -  20%

For Full Time Sponsored / Part Time M. Tech Programme:

1. Qualifying Examination ( Aggregate ) - 50%

2. Test conducted by Institute - 30%

3. Interview/Viva-Voce - 20%

NOTES:

1. appearing in interview / Viva- Voce is compulsory for full time candidates.

2. Appearing in written test and interview / Viva- Voce is compulsory for full time sponsored / part time candidates.

3. Candidates under General and Physically Challenged( PH ) Category securing less than 50% marks in the above procedure will not be admitted. For SC / ST candidates there will not be any minimum cut-off; Instead a separate merit list of SC / ST students will be prepared on the basis of 80:20 weight age i.e. 80% weightage for Gate Score and 20% weightage for Interview.. All admissions will be made in order of merit.

4. After approval of the recommendations of the selection committee, the selected candidates will be offered admission to the programme. They will be required to join the concerned Division.

5. There will not be any direct admission to any level above first semester.

Scholarship:

1. GATE qualified candidates selected for full-time M.Tech course will be entitled for    AICTE scholarship as per rules/ norms decided by AICTE at the time of release of    scholarship.

2. Sponsored/ Part-Time candidate will not be eligible to receive scholarship even if they are admitted on the basis of GATE score.

At The Time of Written Test / Interview

  • Printout of application form duly signed by the candidate along with a passport size photograph.
  • Original receipt of application fee of Rs. 1000/- paid by the candidate and its photocopy.
  • Identity Proof( Passport / Aadhar card / Driving licence / Voter ID / PAN card ) Original and self attested copy of GATE Score ( if applicable ).
  • Original and self attested copy of both Mark sheet and Degree of qualifying examination.
  • Original and self attested copy of class 10th certificate / Mark-sheet in support of Date of Birth.
  • Proof of CGPA / FGPA conversion to Percentage( if applicable ).
  • Original and self attested copy of Caste / Category certificate ( for the reserved categories only ) ( Duly attested by Gazetted Officer ) is issued by one of the following authorities of competent jurisdiction:

  • For Fulltime Sponsored Candidate: Certificates at Annexure II and IV( Original and Photocopy )
  • For Part time Candidate: Certificates at Annexure III and IV( Original and Photocopy )
  • For Physically Challenged (PH) Candidates: A candidate seeking admission under the physically challenged (PH) category, is required to submit, in original, a certificate from Vocational Rehabilitation Centre For Physically Handicapped, located at 9,10,11 karkardooma, Vikas Marg, Delhi-110092.(Performa at Annexure-I) at the time of
  • Interview positively. No Certificate other than this shall be allowed for availing seat under ‘PH’ category.

PROCEDURE FOR ONLINE APPLICATION:

Application process for M.Tech. Admission at NSIT for session 2014-15 will be online. Candidates willing to apply for admission in various M.Tech. Courses at NSIT can visit NSIT Admission website http://www.nsit.nic.in. Online application process will start from May 26, 2014 . Detailed admission schedule (tentative) is also available on this website along with other related details about courses, eligibility criteria, number of seats, fee details etc.

There are three types of M.Tech. courses at NSIT.

1. Information System under the Division of Computer Engineering

2. Signal Processing under the Division of Electronics and Communication Engineering

3. Process Control under the Division of Instrumentation & Control Engineering

 

IMPORTANT: One application form is required for each division. If candidate is willing to apply for Full Time (FT) as well as Sponsored Full Time (SFT) or Part Time (PT) in a division, he/she is required to make multiple registrations and fill separate applications for each type of course in a division. For each registration made by candidate, separate registration fee of Rs. 1,000/- is required to be deposited by the candidate.

Candidates are required to first register themselves and fill complete application form. Separate application forms are to be filled for each division and each type of course (FT/SFT/PT). Candidates are also required to upload a scanned photograph along with the signature as shown below. (Size of the photograph should not exceed 100kb and should be in .jpg, .png, .gif or .bmp format)

In case candidate does not upload the photograph along with the signature, His/Her application form will be rejected.  After completing online application form, when candidate submits application form, he will be asked to create a password for this website. An 8-digit registration number will be generated by system after completion of application form. Candidates are required to note down the registration number for future use as this registration number is the login ID for candidate’s account on this website.

All candidates who have completed and submitted the online application form successfully can later on login to this website using their registration number and password generated during registration process.

They can edit their application form for making necessary changes (if required). Finally when candidate is satisfied with all details filled in application form, he/she can confirm the application and take print out of complete application form. Once application is confirmed by the candidate, he/she cannot change any details filled in the application form.

Candidates can deposit the registration fee through Online after confirming the application. While filling the application form, students are required to fill the percentage of qualifying examination. In case result is given in CGPA/FGPA student should fill the percentage as per the formula prescribed by the University.(This conversion proof they must produce at the time of written  test/Interview/admission). In case University has not prescribed any guidelines, the students should use the formula as per AICTE guidelines. For example if the CGPA is 8.5 in the scale of 10 then percentage will be (8.5-0.75) X 10 = 77.5%

Candidates are required to submit a copy of application form (submitted online) alongwith one Passport size photograph and one set of attested copies of certificates and marksheets (please check the list of documents required on the website) on the date of Written Test/Interview.

Admission will be offered to selected candidates in three rounds as mentioned in the admission schedule.

If some seats remain vacant at the end of a round, waitlisted candidates will be offered admission in next round subject to availability of vacant seats.

Complete online application process can be summarized as follows:

  • Visit www.nsit.nic.in , register and fill application form and create password.
  • Note down registration number generated by the system.
  • Login to your account using registration number and password, edit your application for any changes.
  • Registration fee can be deposited through Online.
  • Confirm the application, and take printout of the application form.
  • Sponsored/ Part time candidates can download sponsorship certificate/No Objection Certificate formats from website.
  • Download Medical fitness certificate format from the website
  • Physically Challenged (PH) candidate can download PH Certificate from the website.
  • In case of any problem contact the Help Desk.
  • If Shortlisted, bring complete application form along with a passport size photograph and all required certificates (original and a set of attested photocopy) to NSIT on the dates of Written test/Interview
  • If offered admission, report at Academic PG section (Room No. 014, Administrative Block) along with all your original certificates and other documents and demand draft of fee.

 

NOTE:

  • All admissions are provisional and subject to verification of certificates submitted by the candidates and subject to medical fitness according to the norms laid down by the Institute from time to time and found fit (except PH category)
  • The photocopies are to be self-attested except SC/ST certificate/ PH certificates which are to be attested by the principal of the Institute last attended or a Gazetted Officer.
  • All candidates are mandatorily required to bring all the original certificates at the time of Written test/Interview/Admission for verification.

FEE DETAILS:

i) FEE FOR INDIAN STUDENTS:

Candidates selected will be required to deposit the annual fee and other charges as per the admission schedule or as intimated by the Institute. The amount of fee payable by him /her is Rs.73,500/- Rupees Seventy Three thousand Five Hundred only (Likely to be revised). Fee Concession (if any) for Physically Challenged candidates will be applicable as per the guidelines issued by the competent authority.

ii) FEE FOR FOREIGN STUDENTS:

Foreign Students can directly apply to NSIT for M.Tech. admission. Candidates selected will be required to deposit the annual fee and other charges as per the admission schedule or as intimated by the Institute. The amount of fee payable by him/her is US$ 6990/-(at the time of admission), US$400 Registration fee and US $100, Special fee per year (likely to be revised) All such candidates must have NOC from MHRD The fee is to be paid by Demand Draft drawn in favor of Director, Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology, Delhi, payable at Delhi. No part payment will be accepted. No other mode of payment will be accepted. All deposits are payable in full on admission and the refundable security are refunded only when the students leaves the Institute after deducting all the dues as determined by the Institute. Security deposit will be forfeited by the Institute, if it is not claimed within three years of the candidate’s ceasing to be on the rolls of the Institute and shall be deposited to Govt. Account.

iii)FEE FOR THESIS SUBMISSION :

All M.Tech. students have to deposit thesis submission fee at the time of thesis submission which is instructed by University of Delhi as per rule. It will be excluding the other charges/ examination fees submitted during IIIrd semester (Full-Time) & Vth semester (Part-Time) registration.

iv) WITHDRAWAL, DROP-OUT AND REFUND:

A student, after admission, will be allowed to withdraw his/her admission up to 21.07.2014. If a student withdraws after 21.07.2014, he/she will be considered a drop-out. The refund of fee under this Para will be as follows:

Irrespective of the data of admission, the refund will be made only after the closing of M. Tech. admissions. The application for withdrawal is to be submitted by the student himself / herself in the prescribed performa (Annexure-VI) in the PG section, Room No. 14 Administrative block of NSIT, enclosing the Original Fee Receipt and Admission slip.
