West Bengal Post Graduate Ayurved Admission Test Examination ( WBPGAAT )

Admission to the seats in the affiliated institution of the West Bengal University of Health Sciences in different Post Graduate Ayurved courses shall be made on the basis of the inter se merit lists of different categories/ castes of candidates appearing in the West Bengal Post Graduate Ayurved Admission Test Examination (WBPGAAT) to be conducted by the West Bengal University of Health Sciences (WBUHS)

Seats: Kayachikitsa (04 seats); Basic Principles (Ayurved Sidhanta and Darshan) (02 seats); Dravyagun (02 seats); Roga Nidan (02 seats)

Eligibility Criteria:

Citizens of India who have obtained the Bachelor of Ayurveda of Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) degree from any university of the state of West Bengalor Paschim Banga Ayurveda Parishad shall be eligible to apply for admission to the PG degree (Ayurved) courses, provided they have completed their rotating internship for one year after passing the BAMS examination

Application for admission to MD (Ayurved) courses will not be accepted unless the candidates have got themselves registered with the Paschim Banga Ayurveda Parishad or CCIM

Candidates who are already pursuing any other course are not eligible for admission

However, candidates completing the course/resigning from the course before the date of admission, will be eligible to get admission

The admission to the Institute of Post Graduate Ayurveda Education Research,Shyamadas Vidyapith, Kolkata, West Bengal is conditional subject to fulfillment of the criteria by the college

Written Test:

A written test will be conducted by the WBUHS to prepare category/ caste wise merit lists of the candidates seeking admission to the MD (Ayurved) courses

Applicants for admission will be provisionally allowed to appear in the written test provided they have submitted their applications in the prescribed form on line and off line and have fulfilled the eligibility criteria

The question paper for the written test shall be set in English and shall contain 100 single best response type multiple choice questions

The following is the list showing the tentative number of questions from different subjects which will be set in the written test

Non-Clinical

Ayurveda Itihas (5), Fundamental Principles of Ayurveda (5), Rasasastra (5), Agadhatantra (5), Sharir Rachana (5), Sharirkriya (5), Drabyaguna, Swasthavritta, Rogavijnan, Vikritivijnan (5)

Total 45 questions will be set from non-clinical subjects

Clinical

Kayachikitsa (12), Shalyatantra (9), Shalakyatantra (8), Bhutavidya (8), Koumaravritya (8), Prasutitantra (10)

Total 55 questions will be set from clinical subjects

The duration of the written test will be 80 minutes

Candidates who will secure a minimum of 40 marks in the written test for the seats reserved for SC/ ST candidates and a minimum of 50 marks for the seats of all other categories will be empanelled for selection

The rank of the candidates qualifying in the written test will be determined on the basis of the marks obtained by them

The roll numbers of the candidates qualifying in the written test will be arranged in the merit list according to rank and in order of decreasing marks

Admission Procedure:

Admission to different Post Graduate Ayurved courses will be made through personal appearance (counseling) strictly according to the time schedule to be published by the WBUHS

For personal appearance the candidates will be called in order of merit

The provisional merit list as well as the date and time of counseling will be available at the notice board of the WBUHS and its website

Candidates selected for admission through counseling shall have to get themselves admitted within the specified date to be mentioned in the offer letter to be issued after counseling

A candidate will have to appear in person before the selection committee on the date of counseling, otherwise he/ she will be marked absent and his/ her candidature will stand cancelled

The candidate appearing for counseling will have to bring the following original documents along with their attested copies (without which they shall not be allowed to participate in the counseling)

WBPGAAT admit card; bachelor of Ayurveda Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)degree/provisional passing certificate/third professional, bachelor of Ayurveda of Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) mark sheet; internship completion certificate; permanent/provisional registration certificate issued by Paschim Banga Ayurveda Parishad or Central Council of Ayurved; school leaving certificate as proof of age; SC/ST/PH certificate; any other relevant document

The print copy of the application along with a crossed demand draft of Rs 1000/- drawn in favour of The West Bengal University of Health Sciencespayable at Kolkata and photographs are to be submitted either by hand or by speed/registered post to the office of the Controller of Examinations, West Bengal University of Health Sciences, DD-36, Sector-I, Salt Lake, Kolkata-700064

No document is to be submitted with application form
