Admission Notice for Post Graduate Diploma Courses 2013

Applications are invited from eligible candidates of Andhra Pradesh for admission into the Post Graduate Diploma courses for the year 2013.

Course Details:

P.G.Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology – 12 Seats

P.G .Diploma in Anaesthesia Technology – 8 Seats

P.G. Diploma in Cardiac Pulmonary Perfusion Technology – 4 Seats

P.G. Diploma in Cardiovascular Technology - 2 Seats

P.G. Diploma in Dialysis Technology – 5 Seats

P.G. Diploma in Neuro‐technology – 2 Seats

P.G. Diploma in Radiation Therapy Technology – 4 Seats

P.G. Diploma in Radiography & Imaging Technology – 8 Seats

P.G. Diploma in Respiratory Therapy Technology – 3 Seats

P.G. Diploma in Transfusion Medicine Technology – 2 Seats

Course Duration: 2 Years

Qualifications: B.Sc ( in any Science subjects/Life Sciences)

Age: The minimum age for admission shall be 20 years completed and should not be more than 30 years. Upper age limit is relaxable by 3 years in the case of SC & ST candidates.

A candidate must submit hard copy of the application form.

The application form may be downloaded and filled appropriately. Please note that all the columns in the application form require to be filled in. Incomplete Application forms will be summarily rejected.

The filled in application form will have to be printed, signed and sent to Associate Dean, Aptitude Testing, 2nd floor, Old OPD Block, Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences, Punjagutta, Hyderabad 500 082 along with all the documents mentioned in the annexure I and a demand draft.

A demand draft for Rs.700/‐ (Rupees seven hundred only) drawn in favour of the Director, Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences or NIMS Cash Receipt will have to be submitted simultaneously along with the filled‐in application. The candidate must write his/her name and the course applied for on the back side of the Bank Draft/NIMS Cash Receipt. Application fee is non‐refundable even if the application is rejected.

The filled in applications received after the prescribed date and time shall not be considered. The institute will not be responsible for non‐receipt of applications or delay in postal transit.

An acknowledgement along with registration number will be sent to the candidate by e‐mail after the application is processed.

The candidates who are in‐service seeking admission into PG diploma courses shall submit service certificate and no objection certificate from the appointing authority in original along with application.

Method of Selection :

The selection shall be based on merit arrived out of total marks obtained in qualifying examination i.e. B.Sc. degree.

In case of equality of marks in the degree examination, the following criteria will be adopted to resolve the ties:

Candidate obtaining higher total percentage of marks in the optional subjects in degree followed by Candidate elder in age will be placed higher in the merit list in that order 

The total marks obtained by the candidates in the degree examination and the names of the candidates selected for counselling will be displayed on the notice board of the Institute/website: www.nims.edu.in on the date specified.

The selection shall be based on the merit obtained in qualifying examination i.e. B.Sc. degree examination, rule of reservations shall be followed as per 100 points roster and local area reservations as per G.O.P.No.646 dated 10th July, 1979. The candidates shall have to attend the counselling for admission on the date notified.

The date of counselling is detailed in prospectus. Candidates have to report for counselling in person with hall‐ticket and other original documents as detailed in annexure‐V. Non‐attendance to the counselling shall render the candidate forfeiting his/her admission. No request for postponing the date of counselling or request to appear at an earlier date shall be entertained. In the event a candidate fails to report for the counselling at the date and time specified the seat shall be offered to the next merit candidate as per the admission rules.

Counselling letters will be sent to the candidates through e‐mail or will be issued in person

A candidate once chosen a subject at the counselling, change of subject is not permitted even with mutual exchange also.
