NASSCOM, the premier trade body and ‘voice’ of the IT software and service industry in India, today announced the rollout of the NASSCOM Assessment of Competence ( NAC ) in Tripura and Meghalaya, in association with the Development of North Eastern Region ( DONER ). NASSCOM had announced its plans to conduct the NAC test in the north eastern region earlier this year in July through a Memorandum of Understanding ( MOU ) with Ministry of DONER for the rollout of NAC in the region. As part of this initiative, NASSCOM aims to conduct NAC test amongst 20,000 students across eight states.

NASSCOM Assessment of Competence ( NAC )  Selection Procedures 2013 : ·         Students from engineering and arts and science colleges in the country who want to join any top IT company will have to take up a common online entrance test (CET) to be conducted by industry body Nasscom. ·         While students of arts and science colleges will have to take a Nasscom assessment competency test, those in engineering colleges will go through Nasscom assessment competency technology test. ·         “The common test will be held from this academic year and colleges that want to tap leading IT firms must ensure that their students take up this test before campus recruitment begins,” said Dr Sandhya Chintala, senior director, Nasscom Education Initiative. ·         There are over 30,000 engineering, arts and science colleges in the country with nearly one crore students. NASSCOM Assessment of Competence ( NAC )  -Admission Procedure Candidates who wish to apply for this test are required to register online through the official website of NASSCOM. Prior to this, they are required to make a fee payment of Rs. 350/- and centre fee of Rs 70/-. Fee payment can be done by taking a demand draft from a nationalized bank in favor of ‘Attest Testing Services Ltd.’, payable at Mumbai. They will be asked to create a user name and password for the registration process. Candidates will have to submit all the personal as well as academic details and details of fee payment while filling up the application form. They will have to upload scanned copy of passport size photograph in jpeg or gif format with size less than 1 MB. Candidates who have successfully applied for the test will receive system generated call letter for written test.

NASSCOM Assessment of Competence ( NAC )  -Details 2013 Eligibility Criteria Candidates who are in the final year of Bachelor of Engineering oaar Bachelor of Technology are eligible to apply. Final year candidates who are pursuing Master of Computer Applications/ Master of Science in Information Technology can apply for the test. Candidates should have secured a minimum of 60 % marks in aggregate in matriculation and higher secondary examination.
