Kerala LETEligibility Criteria

Eligibility Criteria for Lateral Entry course: Nationality and Domicile: Candidate should be of Indian Nationality. A candidate as Kerala origin will be categorized as a " Keralite". Children's of All India Service (AIS) officers (Non-Keralites) allotted to Kerala carder are deemed to be "Keralites" as per G.O (rt) no 882 / 08 / H.Edn.date 29 / 5 / 2008. Non-Keralites are also eligible to apply but their admission will be restricted to the private self-financing institutions and Non-Government seat in the Government controlled self-financing institutions. 15% of seats under lateral entry are reserved as management seats in aided engineering colleges and remaining 85% will be allotted as government seats.  Educational Qualifications: Candidates who have passed Diploma in Engineering / Technology awarded by the State Board of Technical Education or Institution under Govt of India, after undergoing regular course of 3-years in an approved institution are eligible for writing the entrance test. How to Apply? Kerala LET 2017 application form along with prospectus can be obtained from official website of the respective authority i.e. www.dtekerala.gov.in or www.tekerala.org. The authority has specified the application fee as Rs.750/- for general candidates and Rs.375/- for SC/ST category candidates. Applicants can pay the aforesaid amount from branch of State Bank of Travancore to the Joint Controller of Technical Examination. Applicants belonging to ST category will be exempted from paying the mentioned amount in case their annual income is below Rs.40, 000/-, subject of producing income certificate for the same.

Seat Reservation Details: Please check out below all possible details regarding seat reservation criteria: Government engineering colleges seats will be allotted according to the norms of Government. 85% of the total seats under Lateral Entry Scheme will be considered as Government seats and rest 15% will be assumed as Management seats offered at Aided Engineering colleges. Applicants belonging to SC/ST/Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC) category will be provided Communal Reservation. 3% of the seats will be reserved for applicants those are from Physically disabled category. Defence Quota Seat: One seat from each discipline namely Computer Science & Engineering, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering. 85% of the total seats available in Information Technology will be reserved for applicants holding Diploma in Information Technology.
