University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) conducts a university level entrance examination in every year, in order to select the best candidates from India for admission to their various B- Tech programmes. The entrance examination is commonly known as University of Petroleum and Energy Studies Engineering Aptitude Test (UPESEAT). There are 37 various streams are provided under Bachelor of Technology programme. UPES selects the candidates based on their performance on any of the following national level examination such as JEE Main or Board Merit or UPESEAT. 80% of the seats are allocated for UPESEAT rank holders, while 10% of seats are allocated for each JEE main and Merit Board rank holders.

Eligibility Criteria: The eligibility Criteria are mentioned below: Age Criteria: Candidate’s date of birth falls on or after 1st October 1996. DOB mentioned in the Secondary Education Board will be considered as final. Qualification Criteria: Exam Pathway (Up to 80% seat distribution) For UPESEAT: Qualifying Exam: Candidates must pass their 10th and 10+2 examination from a recognized board. Minimum Marks: Candidates have to secure minimum 60% marks in the qualifying examination above. Subjects: Candidates must qualify their 10+2 exam with PCM & secure at least aggregate 60% marks. Non-Examination Pathway (Up to 20% seats distribution) For Board Merit: Qualifying Exam: Candidates have to complete their 10th and 10+2 examination from a recognized board. UPESEAT Exam Pattern: Duration & Timing of Exam: The exam duration will be three hours (9:30 AM to 12:30 PM). Type of Questions: The question paper will be Objective Type Question. No. of Questions: In question paper, total 200 questions will be asked in the entrance exam. UPESEAT 2018 Application Form: Application form is the gateway to appear for UPESEAT 2018. The application submission can be done via both online and offline mode during the last week of December 2017. For online mode: Candidates can login to controller’s official web portal form to get access to application form. UPESEATCounselling Procedure

UPESEAT Counselling 2018: The Counselling of UPESEAT will be conducted in the third week of June 2018. UPES will conduct the Counselling for candidates who have applied for admission through UPESEAT 2018, Board merit and for students who qualified the entrance test. UPESEAT counselling is likely to be conducted in Dehradun, Lucknow, Patna and Delhi. Eligible candidates have to attend the counselling in person at the given venue on the allotted day and time. Candidates have to submit all the required documents for verification at the time of counselling. UPES will grant admissions up to 80% of the total seats on the basis of UPESEAT 2018 result. While the remaining 20% of the seats will be filled on the basis of the candidates’ respective Board Merit or UPESEAT score.
