The Indian Maritime University ( IMU ) was established on 14th November 2008 as a teaching and affiliating university under the Ministry of Shipping, Government of India, with Chennai as headquarters. It was set up to promote maritime studies, training, research and extension with focus on emerging areas like oceanography, maritime history, maritime laws, maritime security, search and rescue, transportation of dangerous cargo, environmental studies and other related fields, and to achieve excellence in these areas.

Indian Maritime University ( IMU ) CET Law  Entrance Examination   Application Procedure – 2014 Application Fee is Rs.1000 for General candidates and Rs.700 for Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe candidates. The Indian Maritime University has decided to switch over to Computer-based CETs on the pattern of IIT-JEE from 2014 onwards. For this purpose, the IMU has selected a Service Provider who will provide End-to- End Services for the successful conduct of the Computer-based CET 2014, except for the setting of question papers which will be done by the University itself. The End-to-End Services that the Service Provider will provide are: Online Registration of Applicants with facility to upload photographs and scanned signatures and to download and print filled-in application in standard formats.
