Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research originated as École de Médicine de Pondichérry established by the French Government in the year 1823. This medical school was converted into Dhanvantari Medical College at the time of de facto transfer of Pondicherry to Government of India. This Medical College was later upgraded into Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER).

JIPMER PG 2019 – Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry will conduct the JIPMER PG 2019 entrance exam on December 2, 2018, for January Session. JIPMER PG application form 2019 has been released on September 24, 2018, along with the information brochure. The last date for JIPMER PG online registration is October 26, 2018.  The entrance exam of JIPMER PG is conducted biannually for admission to 200 MD/MS seats (100 in January session and 100 in July session) available in JIPMER, Puducherry. Out of the 100 seats available in each session, 90 seats are available for all Indian Nationals candidates including OCI while, 5 seats are reserved for Indian candidates sponsored by the government and 5 seats are reserved for Foreign Nationals candidates. Candidates who possess an MBBS degree or an equivalent degree are eligible to appear for the JIPMER PG 2019 entrance exam.

JIPMER PG (MD / MS)Eligibility Criteria

Nationality: Candidates who are Indian nationals, Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) and Foreign National are eligible to take JIPMER PG entrance exam. Academic Qualification: An MBBS degree or an equivalent degree recognised by the Medical Council of India (MCI) should be possessed by the candidate at the time of filling the JIPMER PG application form 2019 for January session. Work Experience: Candidate must also complete the one-year compulsory rotating internship which should complete by December 31, 2018. Minimum Qualifying Marks: A candidate must secure a minimum score of 55% in aggregate in MBBS course if belonging to Unreserved or OBC category. For SC/ST candidates, the minimum qualifying marks are 50%. PwD candidates should have the minimum qualifying marks of their respective category.

The conducting body has made available the JIPMER PG syllabus 2019 which includes the subjects that are taught in MBBS course. The MBBS curriculum includes 19 subjects which should be studied thoroughly by the candidates. JIPMER, Puducherry has released the list of basic clinical and clinical sciences topics. Instruction  For JIPMER PG Registration 2019: Students will be able to submit the application through online mode only. Read the prospectus & instructions carefully before filling the application. Candidates are required to upload the scanned images of photograph & signature. The photograph should be recent coloured and passport size with a light background. A photograph must be taken on or after 1st July 2018. It should also have name and date on the photograph. A photograph should be in 30mm width x 45mm Height and signature should be in 80mm Width X 35mm Height dimensions. Candidates must take the printout of the filled in application form for further use. No need to send it to the officials. After the final submission, no request for a change in application details will be entertained.
