National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) has announced the National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) 2017 for the academic year 2017. Candidates who are interested in seeking admission in M.Sc integrated the can apply application. Candidates who are interested are suggested to check eligibility before applying. NESTEligibility Criteria

Eligibility Criteria: Age limit: General / OBC Candidates who born on or after 1 August 1997 are eligible to apply for NEST 2017. SC / ST / PWD candidates are given 5 years of age relaxation. Educational qualification: Candidates must have completed class 12th or equivalent exam with any combination of Chemistry/ Physics/ Mathematics/ Biology subjects. Candidates should have completed their class 12th or equivalent exam in 2015 or 2016 are eligible to apply. Aspirants who have passed class 12th or equivalent exam before 2015 are not eligible to apply. Candidates who are pursuing their final class 12th exam or equivalent exam are also eligible to apply. To seek admission in M.Sc programme, general / OBC candidates should have obtained minimum 60% and SC / ST / PWD candidates must have scored minimum 55% marks in class 12th.

NESTExam Pattern

Exam Pattern: The NEST Exam contains 5 Sections namely Section A, B, C, D & E. Section A Contains General Topics, and it is same for all candidates. There is no Negative Marking for Section A. How to Apply: Candidates have to follow the given steps to apply for NEST Exam: Visit to the official portal. (Link is given above) Click on the link. Enter your basic details & click on the register button. Confirm your registration. Enter your Email ID & Password & Click on “Login” Button. Candidates have to fill the application form & click on ‘Save’ button. Note down the application number. Upload the scanned documents & Click on “Next” button. How To Download NEST Admit Card Only those candidates who have successfully submitted their applications within the allotted dates and whose payment status is verified will be able to gain access to their admit cards. The procedures for the download of the NEST 2017 admit card is as follows: Candidates must first open the official website of NEST Once the website is opened, candidates must login using their registered email-id, NEST password and the secret code as shown on the screen. The NEST 2017 admit card/hall ticket will now be shown to them. Candidate must download the admit card and print out two-three copies of the same.

NESTCounselling Procedure

Instructions for NEST 2017 Counselling Round I On the date of counselling, candidates must be present at the counselling venue at scheduled time. A failure to do so will amount to forfeiture of admission claim. A combined modified merit list will be prepared on the basis of original merit list and the attendance at NISER and CBS. The admissions will be granted strictly on the basis of the modified merit list. Appearing in counselling doesn’t guarantee admission to any of the participating institutes. Admissions will be solely based on the modified merit list prepared on the counselling day while taking into account the reserved categories. Candidates should carry required documents with them. Reservation of Seats  For the integrated M.Sc. Programme 2017-22, the total number of seats at NISER and CEBS are 170+2(JK) and 45+2(JK), respectively. Indian nationals belonging to certain categories are admitted under the seats reserved for them in accordance with the rules of the Govt. of India  The categories and the extent of reservation are as follows:  Other Backward Classes belonging to the Non-Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL) 27% of seats are reserved for OBC-NCL.  The class should have been mentioned in the central list of OBCs ( as of June 01st, 2016 and the certificate should have been obtained from a competent authority on or after 01st June 2016.  SC/ ST - 15% seats are reserved for SC and 7.5% seats for are reserved for ST categories.
