Tamilnadu Public Service Commission board published the District Educational Officer Recruitment 2019.  Candidates can apply through online mode upto 09.01.2019 for direct recruitment to the post of District Educational Officer in School Education Department included in the Tamil Nadu School Educational Service. TNPSC has 18 (Current Vacancies), +2 (Carries Forward Vacancies) for District Educational Officer (DEO) Post and the exam is going to held on 02.03.2019.

DEO Educational Qualification

For both, Open Market candidates and Teachers employed in recognized Aided Secondary Schools and Higher Secondary Schools: 1. Master’s Degree of any University recognized by the UGC in the State or a Degree of equivalent standard in any one of the following subjects with not less than 50% of Marks in the Master’s Degree Examination in any one of the following subjects:- Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry , Botany , Zoology, Economics , Geography , History ,Commerce, Tamil and English, (Provided that a candidate possessing a Degree of M.A or M.Sc. or an equivalent degree awarded under the grading system shall not be considered eligible for appointment unless he has obtained the said degree with “ O” or “A” or “B” Grade.) 2. DEO Experience

Only for recruitment to the vacancies which are to be filled from among the Teachers employed in recognised Aided Secondary and Higher Secondary Schools having teaching experience in a recognized School for a total period of not less than 12 years after acquiring the qualifications specified in item 2 above. Note:- (i) The qualification prescribed for the posts should have been obtained by passing the required qualification in the following order of studies: 10th + HSC or its equivalent + Bachelor’s degree + PG Degree and B.T/B.Ed Degree (or) B.T/B.Ed Degree and PG Degree.  Applicants must have passed Tamil in Intermediate/PUC/HSC (or its equivalent). DEO Age Limit

There is no age limit for SCs, SC (A)s, STs, MBCs/ DCs, BC(OBCM)s, BCMs and Destitute Widows of all castes. ‘Others’ For Open Market – Should not have completed 30 Years and For Teacher employed in recognised Aided Secondary Schools or Higher Secondary Schools – Should not have completed 40 Years. AGE CONCESSION: For Differently Abled Persons : Differently Abled Persons are eligible for age concession upto 10 years over and above the maximum age limit prescribed. For Ex-servicemen: The maximum age limit for ex-servicemen is 48 years. The above-mentioned age concession will not apply to the ex-servicemen applicants who have already been recruited to any class or service or category.

DEO Selection Procedure

The selection will be made in three successive stages (i) Preliminary Examination for selection of applicants for admission to the Main Examination, (ii) Main Examination (iii) Viva–Voce Test. The candidates for admission to Main Examination will be shortlisted as decided by the Commission at a ratio not exceeding 50 times of the number of vacancies following the rule of reservation. However, in each reservation group, all the applicants, who secure the same marks as that of the cut off marks of their reservation groups shall also be admitted to the Main Written Examination, though the number of applicants to be admitted to the Main Written Examination may exceed 1:50 ratio. Candidates for Viva Voce Test will be shortlisted in the ratio of 1:2 or 1:3 with reference to the number of vacancies as specified in “Instructions to Applicants” under the heading “Procedure of Selection”.
