The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) as per tentative schedule will be taking the Engineering Service Exam (ESE) 2017-18 at three levels; Prelims, Main and Interview. The ESE is conducted by the Commission to recruit engineering graduates at various public sector departments such as Central Water Engineering, Indian Railways, Telecommunication, Power etc. The recruitment is done for Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering. The IES Preliminary Exam 2018 will be conducted on 7th January 2018 and all the students who clear the prelims exam will be shortlisted to appear in IES Mains Exam, which will be conducted on 1st July 2018. UPSC ESEEligibility Criteria

Eligibility Criteria: The applicant should be a resident of India or a subject of Nepal or Bhutan. Tibetan Refugees who came to India before 1st Jan 1962 are also eligible to apply. Any Indian origin person migrated from countries like Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma, and Eastern African Countries with an intention of permanently residing in India are also eligible to apply. For all the above-mentioned candidates from neighboring countries should hold an eligibility certificate from Government of India. Educational Qualification: The applicant should possess a degree in Engineering from a recognized University or Institute by the Government of India. The candidates who have attained M.sc degree with Electronics, Wireless Communications and Radio Physics as a special subject can apply for certain posts. UPSC IES Exam Pattern 2017 – Prelims The UPSC prelims consist of objective type exam. In this UPSC IES prelim, there will be two papers i.e. I & II. For IES Paper I, the number of marks is 200 and the exam duration is 2 hours. For IES Paper II, the number of marks is 300 and the duration is 3 hours. So the total number of marks in UPSC IES prelims is 500 marks. And the total duration of UPSC IES prelims is 5 Hours. Completed the First part of Registration by filling all the asked information like Name, Address, Age, DOB, Educational Qualification, Phone number etc. After filling all the details go through all the details and check it properly in order to avoid mistakes. Now fill all the information in second part of registration. In this part first you have to make the online payment of application fees through any online payment mode. You have to upload a scanned copy of your photograph and signature. Select the exam centers. Finally, agree to the declaration and submit the form. Take out a hard copy of your application form and note down the necessary details for future reference.

Application fee:- Application fee for General Category, OBC and Male candidates is Rs. 200.  Reserved category candidates (SC/ST/PH) and Women are exempted from paying the fee. How to download UPSC ESE Admit Card 2017? Visit official Website upsc.gov.in Click on “Engineering Service (Preliminary) Examination 2017-18” from “what new” section. Another window will open. Click on E-Admit Card. General Instruction will be shown on the screen; take print out of that and click on yes option. There will be two options to download admit card - By Registration Id and By Roll number. Enter registration ID or Roll Number correctly. Check all the details and take a printout of admit card for further use.
