Symbiosis Institute of Design ( SID ) Fashion Technology Entrance Examination Scholarships details - 2015
For Bachelor of design:
Symbiosis International University ( SIU ) has conducted Symbiosis Entrance Test ( SET ) for the admission of SID Courses during the academic year 2015-16.
Seven Merit Scholarships for all UG programmes- one each for each faculty ( Law,Management, Computer Studies, Media & Communication, Design, Health Sciences &Humanities ) -Total free ship ( no academic fee )
Eligibility
A student who scores the highest ( secures 1st rank ) in the SET examination is awarded a Merit Scholarship. The student should have also secured 80% or above at the 10+2 level final examination.
The student would be awarded only one scholarship / free ship if he / she is deemed fit for more than one. The preference of the student is considered in such a case.
The continuation of the scholarship in the subsequent semesters, depend upon maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.5 earned during the preceding semester.
In order to continue the scholarship, the students should not have any backlogs in the preceding semesters.
The students who have been offered scholarships may avail financial assistance from other sources, but should convey the same without fail to Symbiosis Society Foundation.
There is no upper / lower income level of the guardians concerned of the wards for being eligible for the scholarship.
Selection
The announcement of the Merit Scholarship by Symbiosis Society Foundation will be announced every year.
If a student, who has been awarded the Merit Scholarship, declines or cancels her / his admission, the scholarship amount will not be awarded to any other student but will be refunded by the institute to Symbiosis Society Foundation, which will transfer the said money directly to the Institute.
In cases of tie-breaker- The weighted average of academic scores of 10th and 12th will be considered to reach a decision for the award, if two or more students are found to have the same SET scores.
Withdrawal
In case a recipient is found guilty of gross misconduct, the case would be duly reported by the institute to the department of student affairs for withdrawal of merit scholarship. The final decision for the withdrawal of scholarships will be taken by the Advisory Committee of Symbiosis Foundation.
